Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi âUmayr from those whom he has mentioned (in his book) from abu Hamza al-Thumali who has said the following: âI saw Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) when sitting place one foot over his thigh. I said, âPeople dislike this sitting posture and say, âIt is the sitting posture of the Lord.ââ The Imam said, âI sit this way to relieve myself of tiredness.
The Lord does not tire and slumber or sleep cannot overcome Him.ââ Øس٠- Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (2/563))
