Al-Kāfi - The Book of Taharat (Cleansing) Chapter: The Case of a Small Quantity of Water, the Water with a Dead Body in it and its use by a Man to Wash His Dirty Hand in it 2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْ٠ُغِيرَةِ عَنِ ابْنِ ٠ُسْكَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ٠ُيَسِّرِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ الْجُنُبِ يَنْتَهِي إِلَى الْ٠َاءِ الْقَلِيلِ فِي الطَّرِيقِ وَيُرِيدُ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ ٠َعَهُ إِنَاءٌ يَغْرِفُ بِهِ وَيَدَاهُ قَذِرَتَانِ قَالَ يَضَعُ يَدَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ ثُ٠َّ يَغْتَسِلُ هَذَا ٠َّا قَالَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ٠ا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُ٠2.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from ibn Muskan who has said that Muhammad ibn al- Muyassir has said the following: “I asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘A man, after a sexual activity finds water on the way which is less than a Kur in quantity. He wants to take a bath but he does not have a bowl to pick up water with. His hands are dirty (but they are clean).

What should he do?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘He may place his hand in it to take Wudu’ (to wash) then he takes a bath. Allah, the most Majestic, the most Glorious, has said, “He (Allah) has not made in religion anything that causes you hardships.’” (22:78) حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (13/19))
