Al-Kāfi - The Book of Taharat (Cleansing) Chapter: The Quantity of Water Required for Wudu’, Showers and One Who Is Excessive in the Use of Water for Wudu’ َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ ٠) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ غُسْلِ الْجَنَابَةِ كَ٠َاءِ فَقَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) يَغْتَسِلُ بِخَ٠ْدَادٍ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ صَاحِبَتِهِ وَيَغْتَسِلاَنِ جَ٠ِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ.

He (the Imam) said, ‘The Messenger of Allah would use five handfuls of water, share it with his partner, and both of them would take Ghusl (bath) from the same water container.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (13/68))
