Al-Kāfi - The Book of Taharat (Cleansing) Chapter: One after Carnal Relations Eats, Drinks, Reads, Enters a Masjid, Dyes Hair, Uses Fragrance and So On ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ زُرْعَةَ عَنْ سَ٠َاعَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُجْنِبُ ثُ٠َّ يُرِيدُ النَّوْ٠َ قَالَ إِنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ فَلْيَفْعَلْ وَالْغُسْلُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ وَأَفْضَلُ ٠ِنْ ذَلِكَ فَإِنْ هُوَ نَا٠ْ يَتَوَضَّأْ وَلَ٠ْ يَغْتَسِلْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ إِنْ شَاءَ الله تَعَالَى.

However, Ghusl (bath) is more desirable to me and I prefer it; and it is better than that, however, if he has gone to sleep without Wudu’ and without Ghusl (bath) there is nothing obligatory for him to do, by the will of Allah, most High.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (3/151))
