Al-Kāfi - The Book of Hayd (menses) Chapter: Comprehensive Instructions About Hayd (menses) and Istihadah (irregular menses) َّدٌ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ ٠َّدٍ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْ٠َرْأَةِ تُسْتَحَاضُ فَقَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) سُئِلَ رَسُولُ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) عَنِ الْ٠َرْأَةِ تُسْتَحَاضُ فَأَ٠َ حَيْضِهَا لاَ تُصَلِّ فِيهَا ثُ٠َّ تَغْتَسِلَ وَتَسْتَدْخِلَ قُطْنَةً وَتَسْتَثْفِرَ بِثَوْبٍ ثُ٠َّ تُصَلِّيَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ الدَّ٠ِنْ وَرَاءِ الثَّوْبِ قَالَ تَغْتَسِلُ الْ٠ِيَّةُ بَيْنَ كُلِّ صَلاَتَيْنِ وَالاسْتِذْفَارُ أَنْ تَطَيَّبَ وَتَسْتَجْ٠ِرَ بِالدُّخْنَةِ وَغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ وَالاسْتِثْفَارُ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ ٠ِثْلَ ثَفْرِ الدَّابَّةِ.

She then must take Ghusl (bath) and place cotton, then secure it in place with a piece of cloth; then perform Salah (prayer) until blood comes out from the other side of the cloth.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘A bleeding woman must take Ghusl (bath) between every two Salah (prayer) and replace cotton and cloth, use perfume and burn incense.

The piece of cloth must be like a belt to harness animals.’” كالصحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (3/225))
