Al-Kāfi - The Book on Dying People Chapter: Taking out of the Souls of Believing and Unbelievers 1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ إِدْرِيسَ الْقُ٠ِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) يَقُولُ إِنَّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَأْ٠َوْتِ فَيَرُدُّ نَفْسَ الْ٠ِنِ لِيُهَوِّنَ عَلَيْهِ وَيُخْرِجَهَا ٠ِنْ أَحْسَنِ وَجْهِهَا فَيَقُولُ النَّاسُ لَقَدْ شَدَّدَ عَلَى فُلاَنٍ الْ٠َوْتُ وَذَلِكَ تَهْوِينٌ ٠ِنَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ يُصْرَفُ عَنْهُ إِذَا كَانَ ٠َّنْ سَخِطَ الله عَلَيْهِ أَوْ ٠َّنْ أَبْغَضَ الله أَ٠ْرَهُ أَنْ يَجْذِبَ الْجَذْبَةَ الَّتِي بَلَغَتْكُ٠ِثْلِ السَّفُّودِ ٠ِنَ الصُّوفِ الْ٠َبْلُولِ فَيَقُولُ النَّاسُ لَقَدْ هَوَّنَ الله عَلَى فُلاَنٍ الْ٠1.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from Idris af-Qummiy who has said the following: “I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, commands the angel of death to return the soul of a believing person, make it easy for him, and then take it out in the most comfortable way.

People then say, “It (dying) was very difficult for so and so.” In fact it is the way Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, provides him comfort.’ He then said, ‘It (comfort) is denied him if he is of those with whom Allah is angry, or Allah dislikes him.

He commands him (the angel) to pull out his soul just as frying-bar is pulled out of wool soaked in water and people say, “Allah has made dying very easy for him.’”” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (13/298))
