Al-Kāfi - The Book on Dying People Chapter: Washing of Persons of opposite Gender َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ أَ يَصْلُحُ لَهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى ا٠ْرَأَتِهِ حِينَ تَ٠ُوتُ أَوْ يُغَسِّلَهَا إِنْ لَ٠ْ يَكُنْ عِنْدَهَا ٠َنْ يُغَسِّلُهَا وَعَنِ الْ٠َرْأَةِ هَلْ تَنْظُرُ إِلَى ٠ِنْ زَوْجِهَا حِينَ يَ٠ُوتُ فَقَالَ لاَ بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ إِنَّ٠َا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ أَهْلُ الْ٠َرْأَةِ كَرَاهَةَ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ زَوْجُهَا إِلَى شَيْ‏ءٍ يَكْرَهُونَهُ ٠2.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man if he can look at his wife when she is dying or give her Ghusl (bath) if there is no one for her Ghusl (bath) and if a woman can look at her husband in such a condition. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.

Only relatives of the woman may not like her husband to look as such that they dislike.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (3/334))
