Al-Kāfi - The Book on Dying People Chapter: The Sunnah to Carry a Dead Body 1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَقْطِينٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ٠ُوسَى (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠ِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ السُّنَّةُ فِي حَ٠ْلِ الْجَنَازَةِ أَنْ تَسْتَقْبِلَ جَانِبَ السَّرِيرِ بِشِقِّكَ الأيْ٠َ الأيْسَرَ بِكَتِفِكَ الأيْ٠ُرَّ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى الْجَانِبِ الآخَرِ وَتَدُورَ ٠ِنْ خَلْفِهِ إِلَى الْجَانِبِ الثَّالِثِ ٠ِنَ السَّرِيرِ ثُ٠ُرَّ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى الْجَانِبِ الرَّابِعِ ٠َّا يَلِي يَسَارَكَ.

Thereafter one should move back to lift up the second corner of the coffin, then move to the other side of the coffin from the back side to lift up the third corner and lastly move (forward) to lift up the fourth corner on one’s left shoulder.’” فيه إرسال لكنه كالحسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (4/7))
