Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn âIsa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Sayf ibn âAmirah from Ishaq ibn âAmmar who has said the following: âI once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), if there is Ghusl (bath) for one who has died because of drowning.
He (the Imam) said, âYes, there is Ghusl (bath) and he is freed (of doubtful condition).â I then asked, âHow is he freed?â He (the Imam) said, âHe is left for three days before burial and so also is the case of one found dead because of a sudden shock. People think he is dead, perhaps he is not dead.ââ ÙØ«Ù - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (14/142))
