Ahmad ibn Mehran has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ali from Ali ibn abu Hamzah who has said the following: âIn one of the years many people in Makkah died because of a great deal of lightning and thunder.
I visited abu Ibrahim (a.s.), and he, without asking, initiated stating, âIt is proper to delay for three days the burial of one who has died because of drowning and sudden shock unless the spread of smell proves his death.â I then said, âI pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, are you telling me that many people are buried alive?
He (the Imam) said, âYes, O Ali, many people were buried alive and they did not die but in their graves.ââ ضعÙÙ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (14/143))
