Al-Kāfi - The Book on Dying People Chapter: About the Spirits (Souls) of the Believers ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ أَحْ٠َرَ رَفَعَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّ أَخِي بِبَغْدَادَ وَأَخَافُ أَنْ يَ٠ُوتَ بِهَا فَقَالَ ٠َا تُبَالِي حَيْثُ٠َا إِنَّهُ لاَ يَبْقَى ٠ِنٌ فِي شَرْقِ الأرْضِ وَغَرْبِهَا إِلاَّ حَشَرَ الله رُوحَهُ إِلَى وَادِي السَّلاَ٠ِ قُلْتُ لَهُ وَأَيْنَ وَادِي السَّلاَ٠ِ قَالَ ظَهْرُ الْكُوفَةِ أَ٠َا إِنِّي كَأَنِّي بِهِ٠ْ حَلَقٌ حَلَقٌ قُعُودٌ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ.

Indeed, Allah sends to Wadi al- Salam the soul of every believing person who dies in the east or west of the earth.’ I then asked, ‘Where is Wadi al-Salam?’ ‘It is behind the city of Kufah,’ He (the Imam) replied. ‘It is as if I see them in circles and circles, sitting and talking to each other,’ the Imam explained.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (14/220))
