Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: Performing Two Salah (Prayer) Soon After the Other َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَ٠ِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) بِالنَّاسِ الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّ٠ِنْ غَيْرِ عِلَّةٍ وَصَلَّى بِهِ٠َغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ الآخِرَةَ قَبْلَ سُقُوطِ الشَّفَقِ ٠ِنْ غَيْرِ عِلَّةٍ فِي جَ٠َا فَعَلَ رَسُولُ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) لِيَتَّسِعَ الْوَقْتُ عَلَى أُ٠1.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr from Zurarah from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who said, “The Messenger of Allah (sw) performed the Dhuhr and ‘Asr prayers when the sun declined (toward the west at noontime) in congregation without any reason. He also performed the Maghrib and Isha’ prayers in congregation before disappearing of al-Shafaq (redness) without any reason to do so.

The Messenger of Allah (sw) did so to make it easier for his followers.” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (15/51))
