Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn âIsa from Yunus from Muâawiyah ibn âAmmar who has said the following: âI once asked abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), âWhen I stand up for Salah (prayer) can I read, âIn the name of Allah, most Beneficent, most Mercifulâ in the beginning of the recitation?â He (the Imam) said, âYes, you can do so.â I then asked, âWhen I complete reading al-Fatihah can I read âIn the name of Allah, most Beneficent, most Mercifulâ in the beginning of the chapter?â He (the Imam) said, âYes, you can do so.ââ صØÙØ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (5/106))
