Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: Objects on Which Sajdah Is Permissible and What Is Undesirable َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ جَ٠ِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) أَنَّهُ كَرِهَ أَنْ يُسْجَدَ عَلَى قِرْطَاسٍ عَلَيْهِ كِتَابَةٌ. 12.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah from Jamil ibn Darraj who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), disliked performing Sajdah (prostration) on a piece of paper with writing on it.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (5/149))
