Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: Al-Qunut in Obligatory and Optional Salah (prayer) 3ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) عَنِ الْقُنُوتِ فَقَالَ فِي٠َا يُجْهَرُ فِيهِ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ أَبَاكَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ فِي الْخَ٠ْسِ كُلِّهَا فَقَالَ رَحِ٠َ الله أَبِي إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ أَبِي أَتَوْهُ فَسَأَلُوهُ فَأَخْبَرَهُ٠َّ أَتَوْنِي شُكَّاكاً فَأَفْتَيْتُهُ٠ْ بِالتَّقِيَّةِ.

He (the Imam) said, ‘It is in Salah (prayer) in which recitation is loudly?’ I (the narrator) then said to him (the Imam), ‘I asked your father about it and he said that it is in all of the five daily Salah (prayer).’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘I pray to Allah to grant favors to my father, the companions of my father asked him and he informed them of the truth.

Thereafter skeptics came to me and I made a presentation according to Taqiyah.’” وثق أو حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (15/166))
