Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: Mistake in Sujud (prostrations) 1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ قَالَ سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) عَنْ رَجُلٍ سَهَا فَلَ٠ْ يَدْرِ سَجْدَةً سَجَدَ أَ٠ْ ثِنْتَيْنِ قَالَ يَسْجُدُ أُخْرَى وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ بَعْدَ انْقِضَاءِ الصَّلاَةِ سَجْدَتَا السَّهْوِ.

He (the Imam) said, ’He performs another Sajdah (prostration) and after completion of Salah (prayer) two Sajdah (prostration) because of mistake is not necessary.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (5/188))
