Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from ibn Bukayr from âUbayd ibn Zurarah who has said the following: âOnce a few persons of our people and I were in a company, among them was Muyassir, between Makkah and al-Madinah. As we traveled, we were in doubt about the time of Zawal (declining of the sun toward the west at noontime). Certain ones among us said that we must walk for a while until we are certain about Zawal, then perform Salah (prayer).
Thus, we did so and we had walked only a little that the caravan of abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), appeared.
I said, âThe caravan has come.â I saw Muhammad ibn Tsmaâil and asked him, âHave you performed Salah (prayer) yet?â He replied, âMy grandfather instructed us so we performed Salah (prayer) al-Dhuhr and al-âAsr all together.â We then left and I went to inform our people about it.ââ ÙØ«Ù - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (15/373))
