Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: The Optional Salah (prayer) َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي سَارَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبَانُ بْنُ تَغْلِبَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ كَانَ رَسُولُ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) يُوتِرُ فَقَالَ عَلَى ٠ْسِ إِلَى صَلاَةِ الْ٠24.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Al-Husayn Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ’Isma‘il ibn abu Sarah from Aban ibn Taghlib who has said the following: “I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), ’What time did the Messenger of Allah perform al- Witr?’ He (the Imam) said, ’Within a time like from sunset to al-Maghrib Salah (prayer).’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (15/410))
