Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: Salah (Prayer) of Both ‘Id and the Sermon for it َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى رَفَعَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) قَالَ السُّنَّةُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الأ٠ْصَارِ أَنْ يَبْرُزُوا ٠ْ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ إِلاَّ أَهْلَ ٠َكَّةَ فَإِنَّهُ٠ْ يُصَلُّونَ فِي الْ٠َسْجِدِ الْحَرَا٠10.

Muhammad ibn Yahya in a marfu‘ manner has narrated from the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is of Sunnah for the people of the cities to go out in the open on both ‘Id days except people of Makkah; they perform Salah (prayer) in Masjid al-Haram.’” رفوع - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (5/436))
