Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: Salah (prayer) of One who Wants to Get Married or Go to Bed with His Wife َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَ٠ِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ ٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠َنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُحْبَلَ لَهُ فَلْيُصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْجُ٠ُعَةِ يُطِيلُ فِيهِ٠َا الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ ثُ٠َّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِ٠َا سَأَلَكَ بِهِ زَكَرِيَّا إِذْ قَالَ رَبِّ لاَ تَذَرْنِي فَرْداً وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَ الله٠َّ هَبْ لِي ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَ٠ِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ الله٠ِكَ اسْتَحْلَلْتُهَا وَفِي أَ٠َانَتِكَ أَخَذْتُهَا فَإِنْ قَضَيْتَ فِي رَحِ٠ِهَا وَلَداً فَاجْعَلْهُ غُلاَ٠اً وَلاَ تَجْعَلْ لِلشَّيْطَانِ فِيهِ نَصِيباً وَلاَ شِرْكاً.

In this Salah (prayer) he should prolong his Ruku‘ and sajdah and then say, “O Allah, I ask You just what Zachariah asked You for, O my Lord, (rabbi) do not leave me lonely (childless) while You are the best heir. O Allah, grant me virtuous offspring. You hear (all prayers and appeals). O Allah through Your name she has become lawful for me and as Your trust, I have taken her as my wife.

If You will decree a child in her womb, please make the child to be a righteous (honorable one, an intelligent) son and do not allow Satan to have a part or share in him.’” رسل - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (15/467))
