Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ ٠َّدٍ الأشْعَرِيِّ عَنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ الله أَوْصِنِي فَقَالَ لاَ تَدَعِ الصَّلاَةَ ٠ِّداً فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ ٠ِلَّةُ الإِسْلاَ٠11.

Muhammad ibn al-Hassan has narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja‘far ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ariy from al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that a man came to the Holy Prophet asking, ‘O Messenger of Allah, give me a good advice.’ He said, ‘You must not give up Salah (prayer) intentionally; the community of Islam is free from all obligations toward one who gives up Salah (prayer) intentionally.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (15/483))
