Al-Kāfi - The Book of al-Zakat 14ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَ٠َّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عُ٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠َنَعَ قِيرَاطاً ٠ِنَ الزَّكَاةِ فَلْيَ٠ُتْ إِنْ شَاءَ يَهُودِيّاً أَوْ نَصْرَانِيّاً. 14.

Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from those whom he has mentioned from Hafs ibn ‘Umar from Salim from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that one (Muslim) who does not pay zakat dies as a Jew or a Christian; (he is given the chance to choose).” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (16/16))
