Al-Kāfi - The Book of Zakat

Chapter: Embarrassing the Recipient of a Favor َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ٠ُوسَى عَنْ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) إِنَّ الله تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى كَرِهَ لِي سِتَّ خِصَالٍ وَكَرِهْتُهَا لِلأَوْصِيَاءِ ٠ِنْ وُلْدِي وَأَتْبَاعِهِ٠َنُّ بَعْدَ الصَّدَقَةِ.

The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “Allah, the most Blessed, the most High, dislikes to find six characteristics within me, and I dislike finding them with the executors of my wills from my descendents and their followers.

Of such characteristics, one is embarrassing the recipient after giving charity.’”” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (16/149))
