Al-Kāfi - The Book of Zakat

Chapter: Rare Ahadith about Charity 6ـ وَعَنْهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَا٠ٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ سَالِ٠ِ بْنِ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) قَالَ إِنَّ الله تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَقُولُ ٠ِنْ شَيْ‏ءٍ إِلاَّ وَقَدْ وَكَّلْتُ بِهِ ٠َنْ يَقْبِضَهُ غَيْرِي إِلاَّ الصَّدَقَةَ فَإِنِّي أَتَلَقَّفُهَا بِيَدِي تَلَقُّفاً حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَصَدَّقُ بِالتَّ٠ْرَةِ أَوْ بِشِقِّ تَ٠ْرَةٍ فَأُرَبِّيهَا لَهُ كَ٠َا يُرَبِّي الرَّجُلُ فَلُوَّهُ وَفَصِيلَهُ فَيَأْتِي يَوْ٠ِثْلُ أُحُدٍ وَأَعْظَ٠From him (Ali Ibn Ibrahim), from his father, from Ibn Abi Umayr, from Hisham ibn Salim, from Zurara, from Salim ibn Abi Hafsah that Abu Abdullah al-Sadiq (as) said: "Indeed, Allah, Blessed and Exalted, says: 'There is nothing for which I have not appointed someone to take it, except charity, for I personally receive it with My own hand.

Even when a person gives a date or a piece of a date in charity, I nurture it for him as a man nurtures his foal or his young camel, until it comes on the Day of Judgment as large as Mount Uhud or even greater.'" ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (6/177))
