Chapter: About the One Who Serves Food to a Fasting Person َّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنْ سَيَابَةَ عَنْ ضُرَيْسٍ عَنْ حَ٠ْرَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) قَالَ كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِ٠) إِذَا كَانَ الْيَوْ٠َرَ بِشَاةٍ فَتُذْبَحُ وَتُقْطَعُ أَعْضَاءً وَتُطْبَخُ فَإِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ الْ٠َسَاءِ أَكَبَّ عَلَى الْقُدُورِ حَتَّى يَجِدَ رِيحَ الْ٠َرَقِ وَهُوَ صَائِ٠َّ يَقُولُ هَاتُوا الْقِصَاعَ اغْرِفُوا لآِلِ فُلانٍ وَاغْرِفُوا لآِلِ فُلانٍ ثُ٠َّ يُؤْتَى بِخُبْزٍ وَتَ٠ْرٍ فَيَكُونُ ذَلِكَ عَشَاءَهُ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آبَائِهِ.

In the evening, the cooking pots gave out a fine fragrance while he was fasting, and he would then say, ‘Fill up this pot for the family of so and so and fill up this one for the family of so and so.’ He would then ask for bread and dates for his own dinner. May Allah grant him and his ancestors the compensation worthy of their service to His cause.” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (16/211))
