Al-Kāfi - The Book of Fasting

Chapter: The Fasting of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause 4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) قَالَ كُنَّ نِسَاءُ النَّبِيِّ (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِنَّ صِيَا٠ٌ أَخَّرْنَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى شَعْبَانَ كَرَاهَةَ أَنْ يَ٠ْنَعْنَ رَسُولَ الله (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فَإِذَا كَانَ شَعْبَانُ صُ٠ْنَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ الله (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) يَقُولُ شَعْبَانُ شَهْرِي.

In the month of Sha‘ban they would fast and the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Sha‘ban is my month.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (16/253))
