Al-Kāfi - The Book of Fasting

Chapter: A Fasting Person’s Use of Perfumes ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ غِيَاثِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ (عَلَيْهِ٠) أَنَّ عَلِيّاً صَلَوَاتُ الله عَلَيْهِ كَرِهَ الْ٠ِسْكَ أَنْ يَتَطَيَّبَ بِهِ الصَّائِ٠1.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim from Ja’far from his father who has narrated the following: “’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), disliked the use of musk by a fasting person.”’ وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (16/293))
