Al-Kāfi - The Book of Fasting

Chapter: The Case of Fasting during Menses: Major or Minor One ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ سَ٠ِهْرَانَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠ُسْتَحَاضَةِ قَالَ فَقَالَ تَصُو٠َضَانَ إِلاَّ الأَيَّا٠َ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَحِيضُ فِيهِنَّ ثُ٠َّ تَقْضِيهَا بَعْدَهُ.

He (the Imam) said, ‘She is required to fast in the month of Ramadan except for the days during which she used to experience Hayd (menses) and thereafter complete its Qada’ (compensatory fast).”’ شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (16/340))
