Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Safwan ibn Yahya and Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-âAlaâ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: âI once asked one of the two Imam, (abu Jaâfar or abu âAbd Allah), âAlayhim al-Salam, about fasting on the ninth of Dhul Hajjah (day of âArafah). He (the Imam) said, âI do not fast that day.
It is the day of imploring and pleading before Allah.ââ صØÙØ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (16/359))
