Al-Kāfi - The Book of Fasting

Chapter: Fasting on Ninth of Dhul Hajjah and on Tenth of Muharram َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ ٠ِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ الله (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) لَ٠ُنْذُ نَزَلَ صِيَا٠2.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from ibn Faddal from Tha’labah ibn Maymun from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: ““I once heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.), say, ‘The Messenger of Allah did not fast on the day of ‘Arafah from the time fasting of the month of Ramadan came down.’” وثق كالصحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (16/359))
