A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-Husayn ibn abu al-âAlaâ who has said the following: âAbu â Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, âMuâawiyah was the first person who built door-jambs for his house in Makkah and prevented the pilgrims to the House of Allah to use it, against the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, âBoth resident and nonresident have equal right to use it.â (22:24) The people arriving in Makkah, who were not residents, would stay with residents until the end of Hajj season.
Muâawiyah was the person of the chains about which Allah, the most Blessed, the most High, has said, âWith the chain which is seventy yards long, (you must) chain him; He did not believe in Allah, the Great.â (69:31-32) He was the pharaoh of this nation.ââ Øس٠- Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (7/107))
