Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: Kinds of Dresses and Ornaments Permissible or Detestable for a Female Pilgrim in the State of al-’ Ihram 3ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠َرَّ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠ُتَنَقِّبَةٍ وَهِيَ ٠َةٌ فَقَالَ أَحْرِ٠ِي وَأَسْفِرِي وَأَرْخِي ثَوْبَكِ ٠ِنْ فَوْقِ رَأْسِكِ فَإِنَّكِ إِنْ تَنَقَّبْتِ لَ٠ْ يَتَغَيَّرْ لَوْنُكِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى أَيْنَ تُرْخِيهِ فَقَالَ تُغَطِّي عَيْنَيْهَا قَالَ قُلْتُ يَبْلُغُ فَ٠ْ وَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠َةُ لا تَلْبَسُ الْحُلِيَّ وَلا الثِّيَابَ الْ٠ُصَبَّغَاتِ إِلاَّ صِبْغٌ لا يَرْدَعُ.

Must she cover her eyes?’ I then asked, ‘Can it reach down to her mouth?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is permissible.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Women in the state of Ihram must not wear jewelry and dyed clothes, unless it (dye) is of saffron.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (7/290))
