Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: Use of Perfumes in the State of al-’Ihram 14ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَ٠َّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ ٠ُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِأَنْ تَشَ٠َّ الإِذْخِرَ وَالْقَيْصُو٠َى وَالشِّيحَ وَأَشْبَاهَهُ وَأَنْتَ ٠14.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Mu‘awiyah ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “It is not harmful to smell ‘Idhkhir (a green plant with a certain fragrance), lavender cotton, tulip, wormwood and similar things, while you are in the state of Ihram.” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (17/312))
