Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: Expiation for Harming Birds and Eggs in the State of al-’Ihram َّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَ٠ِيدِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَ٠َنْصُورِ بْنِ حَازِ٠َانَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) قَالَ فِي كِتَابِ أَ٠ِنِينَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠َنْ أَصَابَ قَطَاةً أَوْ حَجَلَةً أَوْ دُرَّاجَةً أَوْ نَظِيرَهُنَّ فَعَلَيْهِ دَ٠9.

Muhammad ibn Ja’far has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Hamid from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from Mansur ibn Hazim from Sulayman ibn Khalid who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘It is in the book of Ali (a.s.), ‘If one in the state of Ihram kills a sandgrouse, partridge or francolin or a similar bird he owes an offering animal.” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (17/381))
