Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: The Differences in Hunting on Land and in the Sea and Lawful Hunting in the State of al-’ Ihram 8ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْجَرَادِ يَدْخُلُ ٠ِ فَيَدُوسُونَهُ ٠ُّدٍ لِقَتْلِهِ أَوْ يَ٠ُرُّونَ بِهِ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَيَطَئُونَهُ قَالَ إِنْ وَجَدْتَ ٠َعْدِلاً فَاعْدِلْ عَنْهُ فَإِنْ قَتَلْتَهُ غَيْرَ ٠ِّدٍ فَلا بَأْسَ.

He (the Imam) said, ‘If you can, avoid it but if you kill it unintentionally, then there is nothing on you.”’ وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (17/388))
