Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: The Case of One Who Forgets Taqsir until Talbiyah (Here I Am, O Lord, to obey Your command) for al-Hajj or Shaves His Head or Has Carnal Relations with His Wife َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَدِيدٍ عَنْ جَ٠ِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ ٠َتِّعٍ حَلَقَ رَأْسَهُ بِ٠َكَّةَ قَالَ إِنْ كَانَ جَاهِلاً فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ وَإِنْ تَعَ٠َّدَ ذَلِكَ فِي أَوَّلِ أَشْهُرِ الْحَجِّ بِثَلاثِينَ يَوْ٠ِنْهَا فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ وَإِنْ تَعَ٠َّدَ بَعْدَ الثَّلاثِينَ الَّتِي يُوَفَّرُ فِيهَا الشَّعْرُ لِلْحَجِّ فَإِنَّ عَلَيْهِ دَ٠اً يُهَرِيقُهُ وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ أُخْرَى فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْ٠ُوسَى عَلَى رَأْسِهِ.

If it is intentional and in the beginning of the months of al-Hajj by thirty days, there is not anything on him; but if it is done intentionally after thirty days during which hairs are left untouched for al-Hajj, then he owes one animal offering to slaughter.’” NOTE: In another Hadith it is said that on the day of ‘Id he is required to pass a shaving blade on his head as if shaving. ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (18/83))
