Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: The Case of Ihram of Women Experiencing Menses ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َاعِيلَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ ٠َنْصُورِ بْنِ حَازِ٠ٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠َرْأَةُ الْحَائِضُ تُحْرِ٠ُ وَهِيَ لا تُصَلِّي قَالَ نَعَ٠ْ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْوَقْتَ فَلْتُحْرِ٠3.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn ‘Isma‘il from Safwan ibn Yahya from Mansur ibn Hazim who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a woman who experiences Hayd (menses); if she can assume the state of Ihram when she cannot perform Salat (prayer).

He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, she can do so when it is time for assuming the state of Ihram.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (18/91))
