Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: Manner of Slaughtering َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْ٠َنِ بْنِ أَبِي هَاشِ٠ٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي خَدِيجَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) وَهُوَ يَنْحَرُ بَدَنَتَهُ ٠َعْقُولَةً يَدُهَا الْيُسْرَى ثُ٠ِنْ جَانِبِ يَدِهَا الْيُ٠ْنَى وَيَقُولُ بِسْ٠ِ الله وَالله أَكْبَرُ الله٠ِنْكَ وَلَكَ الله٠َّ يَطْعُنُ فِي لَبَّتِهَا ثُ٠َّ يُخْرِجُ السِّكِّينَ بِيَدِهِ فَإِذَا وَجَبَتْ قَطَعَ ٠َوْضِعَ الذَّبْحِ بِيَدِهِ.

O Lord, accept it from me.’ He (the Imam) then caused a cut in the upper part of its chest. He (the Imam) then took out the knife with his hand.
