Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: The Obligation of Fasting for One Who Performs al-Hajj al-Tamattu’ but Cannot Find an Offering 10ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَنْ ٠َنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠ْ فِي ذِي الْحِجَّةِ حَتَّى يُهَلَّ هِلالُ الْ٠ُ شَاةٍ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ صَوْ٠ٌ وَيَذْبَحُهُ بِ٠10.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hafs ibn al-Bakhtariy from Mansur who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One who does not fast in Dhu al-Hajjah until it is the month of Muharram, he owes one sheep to slaughter and fasting is not obligatory on him, he must slaughter it in Mina’.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (18/198))
