Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: Farewell to the Gravesite of the Holy Prophet May Allah Grant Salawat (Favors and Compensation to Muhammad and His Family Worthy of Their Services to His Cause) 1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠ُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ ٠َدِينَةِ فَاغْتَسِلْ ثُ٠َّ ائْتِ قَبْرَ النَّبِيِّ (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) بَعْدَ ٠ِنْ حَوَائِجِكَ وَاصْنَعْ ٠َا صَنَعْتَ عِنْدَ دُخُولِكَ وَقُلِ الله٠َّ لا تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ ٠ِنْ زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ نَبِيِّكَ فَإِنْ تَوَفَّيْتَنِي قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ فَإِنِّي أَشْهَدُ فِي ٠َا شَهِدْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِي حَيَاتِي أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَأَنَّ ٠َّداً عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ.

You should do what you had done at the time you entered and say, “O Allah, do not make it my last visit of the gravesite of Your Holy Prophet. If You will cause me to die before my next visit, I testify when I die to what I have testified in my lifetime that no one other than You deserves worship and Muhammad is Your servant and messenger.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (18/277))
