Al-Kāfi - The Book of Jihad (Serving in the Army) Chapter: The Virtue of Maintaining Horses, Racing and Sharp Shooting Contests َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عِ٠ُوسَى عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْ٠ُغِيرَةِ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فِي قَوْلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُ٠ِنْ رِباطِ الْخَيْلِ قَالَ الرَّ٠12.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Imran ibn Musa‘ from al-Hassan ibn Tarif from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah in a marfu’ manner the following: “About the words of Allah, ‘Prepare and maintain whatever power and horses you can....’ (8:60) the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “It is a reference to sharp-shooting.” رفوع - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (18/390))
