Al-Kāfi - The Book of Jihad (Serving in the Army) ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عُذَافِرٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الأعْلَى ٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠َّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ يا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آ٠َنُوا قُوا أَنْفُسَكُ٠ْ ناراً جَلَسَ رَجُلٌ ٠ِينَ يَبْكِي وَقَالَ أَنَا عَجَزْتُ عَنْ نَفْسِي كُلِّفْتُ أَهْلِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) حَسْبُكَ أَنْ تَأْ٠ُرُ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ وَتَنْهَاهُ٠َّا تَنْهَى عَنْهُ نَفْسَكَ.

(66:6) one man from the Muslims sat straight and began to weep, saying, ‘I have failed in saving myself and now I am commanded to save my family also.’ The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, said, ‘It is enough for you to ask them to do good as you ask yourself and prohibit them from committing sins as you prohibit yourself.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (8/410))
