Sahl ibn Ziyad has narrated from ibn Mahbub from Safwan al-Jammal who has said the following: âI heard abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), saying, âOne who finds a lost animal but does not announce in public what he has found and then it is found by the owner, it then is for the care-taker (owner) or its kind (current value) from the assets of the one who has kept it in hiding.ââ Ø´ÙÙر - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (19/115))
