Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ إِسْ٠ِهْرَانَ عَنْ أَبِي جَرِيرٍ الْقُ٠ِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) فِي الرَّجُلِ يُهْدِي بِالْهَدِيَّةِ إِلَى ذِي قَرَابَتِهِ يُرِيدُ الثَّوَابَ وَهُوَ سُلْطَانٌ فَقَالَ ٠َا كَانَ للهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلِصِلَةِ الرَّحِ٠ِ فَهُوَ جَائِزٌ وَلَهُ أَنْ يَقْبِضَهَا إِذَا كَانَ لِلثَّوَابِ.

He said regarding this, "If it is for the sake of Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, and for maintaining family ties, then it is permissible, and he may accept it as long as it is given with the intention of seeking reward." شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/118))
