Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce Chapter: Merchandise Sold on Credit Is Purchased Back for Cash at a Lower Price Called (‘ Aynah ) ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ سُوقَةَ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْ٠ُنْذِرِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) يَجِيئُنِي الرَّجُلُ فَيَطْلُبُ الْعِينَةَ فَأَشْتَرِي لَهُ الْ٠َّ أَبِيعُهُ إِيَّاهُ ثُ٠َكَانِي قَالَ فَقَالَ إِذَا كَانَ بِالْخِيَارِ إِنْ شَاءَ بَاعَ وَإِنْ شَاءَ لَ٠ْ يَبِعْ وَكُنْتَ أَنْتَ أَيْضاً بِالْخِيَارِ إِنْ شِئْتَ اشْتَرَيْتَ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ لَ٠ْ تَشْتَرِ فَلا بَأْسَ قَالَ قُلْتُ فَإِنَّ أَهْلَ الْ٠ُونَ أَنَّ هَذَا فَاسِدٌ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنْ جَاءَ بِهِ بَعْدَ أَشْهُرٍ صَلَحَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا تَقْدِي٠ٌ وَتَأْخِيرٌ فَلا بَأْسَ بِهِ.

He (the Imam) said, Tf he has the choice to sell if he likes or not to sell and you also have the choice to buy if you like or do not buy if you do not like, it is not unlawful.’ I then said, ‘People of the Masjid think it is not valid.

They say, “If he brings it after few months it is valid.’” He (the Imam) said, ‘This is making early what is later and late what is early and it is not unlawful.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/223))
