Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce Chapter: Milk, Wool and Ghee of Sheep Given for their Maintenance َيْدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ٠َاعَةَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ ٠ُدْرِكِ بْنِ الْهَزْهَازِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) فِي الرَّجُلِ يَكُونُ لَهُ الْغَنَ٠ُ فَيُعْطِيهَا بِضَرِيبَةٍ شَيْئاً ٠ِنَ الصُّوفِ أَوِ السَّ٠ْنِ أَوِ الدَّرَاهِ٠ِ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِالدَّرَاهِ٠ِ وَكُرِهَ السَّ٠3.

Humayd ibn Ziyad has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Muhammad ibn Sama‘ah from certain persons of his people from Aban from Mudrik ibn al-Hazhaz who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who had sheep and gave them for their maintenance in exchange for their wool or Ghee or dirham.

He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’ He disliked ghee.” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (19/261))
