Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce Chapter: Selling a Found Child and One Born Out of Wedlock ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ ٠ُثَنًّى عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ اللَّقِيطُ لا يُشْتَرَى وَلا يُبَاعُ. 1.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from Muthanna’ from Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One cannot buy or sell an abandoned child that is found.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (19/262))
