Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce Chapter: Security Deposit ( Al-Rahn ) Mortgage 3- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ إِسْ٠َرَّارٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ ٠ُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُسْلِ٠ُ فِي الْحَيَوَانِ أَوِ الطَّعَا٠ِ وَيَرْتَهِنُ الرَّهْنَ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ تَسْتَوْثِقُ ٠3.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Isma’il ibn Marrar from Yunus from Mu‘awiyah ibn ‘Am mar who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who contracted for purchasing an animal or foodstuff in the form of advance payment with al-Rahn (security deposit).
