Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce Chapter: Security Deposit ( Al-Rahn ) Mortgage 15- عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) عَنْ رَجُلٍ رَهَنَ جَارِيَتَهُ عِنْدَ قَوْ٠ٍ أَيَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَطَأَهَا قَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ ارْتَهَنُوهَا يَحُولُونَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ قَدَرَ عَلَيْهَا خَالِياً قَالَ نَعَ٠ْ لا أَرَى هَذَا عَلَيْهِ حَرَا٠15.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who left his slave-girl as al-Rahn (security deposit) with a people if it was lawful for him to do sexual intercourse with her. He (the Imam) said, ‘Those who hold her as al-Rahn (security deposit) will bar him.’ I then asked, ‘What happens if he gets a chance?

He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, I do not see it to be unlawful for him.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (19/282))
