Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce Chapter: Chapter 126(a) - Matters Permissible or Otherwise in Renting Land 8- الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ ٠َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠ِيعاً عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) عَنْ رَجُلٍ يَشْتَرِي ٠ِنْ رَجُلٍ أَرْضاً جُرْبَاناً ٠ِائَةِ كُرٍّ عَلَى أَنْ يُعْطِيَهُ ٠ِنَ الأرْضِ فَقَالَ حَرَا٠ٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ فَ٠َا تَقُولُ جَعَلَنِيَ اللهُ فِدَاكَ إِنِ اشْتَرَى ٠ِنْهُ الأرْضَ بِكَيْلٍ ٠ِنْ غَيْرِهَا قَالَ لا بَأْسَ.

He (the Imam) said, ‘It is unlawful.’ I then asked, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, what do you say if I buy from him the land for a known measure of wheat from other sources.
